About the University of Twente Scholarship
The University of Twente Scholarship, commonly called UTS, supports excellent students from outside the EU and EEA who have applied to a qualifying master’s program. Pakistani applicants can be considered under the non-EU/EEA route.
UTS is competitive and intended for applicants who rank among roughly the top 5% to 10% of their graduating class. Master’s admission and scholarship selection are separate.
Financial Benefits
The scholarship provides between €3,000 and €22,000 for one academic year. It is a contribution toward study-related costs, not a full scholarship. The university does not pay tuition or other bills directly on the recipient’s behalf.
For a two-year master’s, a second-year award equal to the first-year amount may be available. Continuation requires an average grade of at least 7 out of 10 by the end of the third quartile and completion of at least 50% of first-year European credits by that point.
Scholarship Structure
Candidates first apply to an eligible University of Twente master’s program and obtain provisional or final admission plus a student number. They then submit the separate UTS application.
UTS is not available for pre-master’s programs, Dutch or current University of Twente students, students paying the statutory tuition fee, or master’s programs at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation.
