About the France Excellence Eiffel Programme
The Eiffel programme helps French institutions recruit outstanding international students in priority fields. Campus France’s 2027 call lists seven broad areas: biology and health; ecological transition; mathematics and digital technologies; engineering and engineering sciences; French history, language and civilisation; law and political science; and economics and management.
The scholarship supports eligible Master’s programmes, engineering degrees and doctoral mobility under the official rules. Admission to a French programme and Eiffel nomination are connected but distinct decisions.
Financial Benefits
The 2027 regulations state that Master’s scholars receive EUR 1,200 per month from January 2026 onward. Doctoral scholars receive EUR 2,000 per month from January 2026 onward. Campus France also directly provides or arranges specified services such as international and domestic transport, insurance, housing-search assistance and cultural activities under programme rules.
Important: the Eiffel programme itself does not pay programme tuition or training fees. Applicants should ask the nominating institution whether any fee exemption applies and obtain written confirmation of costs.
Programme Structure and Duration
Master’s funding can run for up to 12 months for entry into the second Master’s year, up to 24 months for entry into the first Master’s year, or up to 36 months for an engineering diploma. Doctoral support can be awarded for 12, 18 or 36 months under the applicable doctoral conditions.
The funded stay normally begins between 1 September and 30 November of the award year. The official regulations say the scholarship cannot be deferred. Funding generally applies to periods undertaken in France, subject to stated internship or exchange exceptions.
