About the Scholarship
The Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarship is TU Delft’s flagship award for exceptional international MSc candidates. The university selects students with strong academic records who have been conditionally admitted to an eligible two-year MSc.
Pakistani applicants compete in the international pool. A nomination is not automatic: the MSc admission file and scholarship materials must be complete before the scholarship deadline.
Financial Benefits
- Full tuition fees for each academic year of the eligible MSc.
- A contribution toward living expenses.
- Membership of TU Delft’s Scholarship Club, where applicable under current program arrangements.
The official page does not present the living contribution as a guarantee that every personal, travel, visa or settlement cost will be covered. Applicants should retain a realistic budget for expenses not specified in the award.
Scholarship Structure
The award covers the standard two-year duration of a regular TU Delft MSc. It does not cover joint education programs. Continued scholarship support in the second year requires the recipient to obtain 48 of the first year’s 60 ECTS credits.
TU Delft states that scholarship funding cannot be extended beyond two years. The award also cannot be combined with another full or partial scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be an international applicant to a regular two-year TU Delft MSc program.
- Receive conditional admission to that MSc.
- Demonstrate excellent academic results. TU Delft gives an indicative benchmark of being among the top 10 percent of the previous degree program.
- Submit a complete MSc application before the scholarship deadline.
- Not apply to a joint education program.
Pakistani applicants should use official transcripts and, where available, university ranking or grading explanations to make their academic position easy to assess. Meeting the indicative top-10-percent level does not guarantee selection.
Required Documents
- Complete TU Delft MSc application and all program-specific admission documents.
- The official scholarship application form.
- One reference letter; if the MSc application includes two letters, combine them into one PDF where the instructions require it.
- English-language certificate unless the applicant qualifies for an official exemption.
- Academic records and degree evidence required by TU Delft admissions.
Follow the file format and upload instructions in the MSc application portal. Late or incomplete files are not considered for the scholarship.
